Matthew Jervis, DMD is a dedicated endodontist whose career reflects a deep commitment to service, education, and high-quality patient care. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, he completed his undergraduate studies at Portland State University before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) School of Dentistry in 2005.
Following dental school, Dr. Jervis spent more than 17 years practicing in public health and group practice settings, providing care to underserved communities while developing a strong clinical foundation across a wide range of patient needs. It was during this time that he discovered his passion for endodontics and its ability to relieve pain, preserve natural dentition, and improve patients’ quality of life.
Driven to deepen his expertise, Dr. Jervis returned to OHSU to complete his specialty residency in endodontics, which he finished in 2023. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists and regularly participates in continuing education and professional conferences to stay current with evolving techniques and technologies in the field.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Jervis serves as an Assistant Professor of Endodontics at the OHSU School of Dentistry, where he enjoys mentoring dental students and sharing his enthusiasm for the specialty. He is known for his thoughtful, patient-centered approach and his commitment to delivering care that prioritizes both clinical excellence and patient comfort.
Outside the office, Dr. Jervis enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and loves cooking for family and friends.
